When you schedule your service with Clover Genetics, we will ask you how you plan to pay. Before your visit, it is important for you to understand your options. If you are not using a Specialty Program Code, Clover Genetics will request to put a credit or debit card on file in our secure billing system to reserve your appointment.

Paying Out-of-Pocket (OOP):

Any clinical genetic counseling appointment to evaluate an individuals risk for genetic condition, discuss an already diagnosed condition, to review results or to determine if genetic testing is the right option.

All appointments are scheduled for 1 hour and billed at $150 per 30 minutes, utilizing CPT code 96040, totaling $300 for a 45-60 minute visit. Appointments may be shorter than the allotted time, but charges will not be prorated and is based on the amount of 30 minute increments used. Time used in the visit is at the discretion of the genetic counselor. Any additional time will be billed at the same rate of $150 per 30 minutes.

The Sliding Scale Program may adjust fees to as low as $60.00 per 30 minutes for qualifying patients (see below).

Paying for Genetic Testing:

Clover Genetics will work with your physician and the lab to find the most affordable option if genetic testing is indicated. Most insurance plans offer coverage for genetic testing. Before any testing begins, our team will partner with the lab to provide a clear estimate of the cost. We will also explore no-cost and self-pay options to ensure access to testing. Many genetic testing laboratories offer Out-of-Pocket payment discounts for patients seeking testing without insurance. Patient Assistance Programs are often available for those who qualify.

If you do not have a physician working with you on your diagnosis, our practice collaborates with a geneticist, a physician specializing in genetics, who is available to review and possible sign-off on genetic testing requests. There is a nominal $25 fee for this service.

Payment Plan Options:

Clover Genetics offers a payment plan option for any patient who prefers not to pay their full balance upon receiving their bill. Three standard options for our payment plans are available.
